How To Draw A Hospital. Hospitals are one of the most important institutions in modern society. Illnesses and injuries are, unfortunately, a normal part of human life, but fortunately, we have hospitals staffed with doctors, nurses, surgeons, and other qualified professionals to help you.
Hospitals come in many shapes, sizes and designs, but they are equally important regardless of their form. Learning to draw a hospital is a great way to honor this vital institution. It can be tricky, but this tutorial is here to show you it’s not necessary!

Step 1:
To start this guide on drawing a hospital, we will start with the façade of the building. By doing this, the first thing we draw will not be part of the hospital itself. Instead, we will draw an ambulance, as this vehicle is crucial for the functioning of the hospital. First, grab a ruler, drawing the ambulance and the rest of the hospital much easier.
For the ambulance, start with two rings with smaller loops inside individually. Next, use your ruler to draw the square shape of the ambulance. Remember to add a blocky cross and a mermaid on top! Finish this step by drawing straight horizontal lines for the hospital’s base and adding a small flowerpot near the left side.
Step 2:
Continuing with this hospital drawing, you can add more shapes and details. First, you can draw another potted plant near the one you drew. The next thing we’ll add is two large square shapes for the front of the hospital.
The top lines of these squares will also extend beyond their sides. The reference image will show you what we mean by that! Finally, for this step, you can draw a nice tree on the right side of the scene, and then we can move on to step 3.
Step 3:
We’re adding a lot in this step of our guide on how to draw a hospital, and while that’s true, it will be simpler than it looks! For this part, your ruler and the reference image will certainly be your most useful tools.
Using the reference image to help you, we’ll add square and rectangular shapes to the ones you’ve already started with. Try placing them the same way we did ours. Finally, draw a ridge above the hospital roof, then we can continue.
Step 4:
Your hospital drawing is taking shape now! We will draw even more shapes with the ruler as we go along. As our reference image shows, you can start drawing thin rectangular shapes on the left side of the hospital.
Next, we’ll draw a large rectangular shape in the center section of the hospital. This shape will also have lines drawn through it. Finally, finish by drawing a few small squares and rectangles on the right side of the hospital, then add some puffy clouds on top of them. Then we’ll be ready for some final touches on the next one.
Step 5:
Our fifth step in this guide on how to draw a hospital will see you adding the final elements and touches. First, we’ll draw a helicopter with rounded, straight lines on the top left of the hospital.
The other details will be some straighter lines on the hospital shapes, and we’ll also add another big piece inside a circle on the front of the hospital. Be sure to add any other details or elements to this image! What can you think of adding to the image?
Step 6:
Now is the time to finish your hospital drawing with some color! In our reference image, we show you one way to color this image. We chose cooler blues and greens for most of the hospital facade but also incorporated grays for some parts. We also used reds for the medic crosses and the helicopter on the roof for warmer colors.
